Description

Delight in these irresistible Air Fryer Blueberry Cheesecake Wontons featuring a creamy cheesecake filling topped with a luscious, gooey blueberry compote, all wrapped in crispy wonton wrappers and lightly dusted with powdered sugar for a perfect sweet treat in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling

  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blueberry Sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Assembly

  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, melted
  • Spray cooking oil
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blueberry Sauce: Wash the blueberries and pat them dry on paper towels. In a heavy bottom saucepan, combine the blueberries, water, sugar, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium-high heat until the blueberries burst and release their juices.
  2. Thicken the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in about one tablespoon of water. Stir this into the blueberry mixture, increase the heat again, and cook while stirring until the sauce becomes clear, thick, and gooey. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Make the Cheesecake Filling: While the blueberry sauce cools, in a stand mixer bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Refrigerate the cheesecake mixture until ready to assemble.
  4. Assemble the Wontons: Lay out the wonton wrappers on parchment paper. Place about one teaspoon of the chilled cheesecake mixture in the center of each wrapper. Then add a small dollop of the blueberry sauce on top of the cheesecake filling.
  5. Seal the Wontons: Brush the edges of each wonton wrapper with melted butter using a pastry brush. Gather the corners of the wrapper up and pinch them together tightly in the middle to seal the wontons securely.
  6. Air Fry: Lightly spray the assembled wontons with cooking spray on all sides. Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 6 minutes until the wrappers are crisp and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove the wontons from the air fryer, transfer them to a serving plate or platter, and sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Serve immediately and enjoy this crunchy, creamy, fruity dessert treat.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth cheesecake filling.
  • Be gentle when sealing the wontons to prevent leaks during air frying.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary for even crispiness.
  • The blueberry sauce can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute cream cheese and butter with plant-based alternatives.
