Description

This creamy and tangy Avocado Crema recipe combines ripe avocado, sour cream, fresh lime juice, garlic, and cilantro, creating a smooth and flavorful sauce perfect for drizzling over tacos, grilled meats, or as a dip.

Ingredients

Scale

Avocado Crema Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 small bunch cilantro (leaves only)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the avocado: Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop out the flesh and place it into a small food processor or blender.
  2. Add cilantro leaves: Strip the leaves from the cilantro stems and add the leaves to the food processor with the avocado.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients: Add the sour cream, minced garlic, freshly squeezed lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the food processor.
  4. Blend until smooth: Blend all ingredients together for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
  5. Serve immediately: Transfer the avocado crema to a serving bowl or container and enjoy it fresh as a sauce or dip.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
  • If the crema is too thick, add a tablespoon of water or milk to achieve desired consistency.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; cover tightly to prevent browning.
  • This crema pairs well with Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and grilled meats.
