Description

A fresh and flavorful BLT Salad combining crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, crunchy croutons, and crisp lettuce, tossed in a creamy garlic-chive dressing. Perfect as a main course or a side salad, this easy-to-make recipe delivers the classic BLT flavors in a light, refreshing salad form.

Ingredients

Scale

Salad

  • 12 oz sliced cooked bacon
  • 1 to 2 cups croutons
  • 1 lb (3 cups) tomatoes (any kind), sliced
  • 1 medium/large head of lettuce, chopped, rinsed, and dried

Dressing

  • 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 Tbsp sour cream
  • 1 large garlic clove, pressed
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp milk (or to desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 4 tablespoons of sour cream, the pressed garlic clove, 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh chives, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (or adjust to taste). Stir well, then slowly add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk to reach your preferred dressing consistency. Cover and refrigerate the dressing to allow the flavors to meld until you are ready to serve.
  2. Assemble the salad: In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, and croutons. Just before serving, drizzle the chilled dressing over the salad to taste and gently toss everything together to ensure even coating and flavor distribution.

Notes

  • For best results, use freshly cooked crispy bacon for maximum flavor and texture.
  • You can substitute mayonnaise and sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter dressing option.
  • Adjust the amount of milk in the dressing to get the desired consistency, whether thicker or more pourable.
  • This salad is best served immediately after tossing to keep croutons crunchy.
  • Feel free to use any variety of tomatoes such as cherry, heirloom, or Roma for different flavors and textures.
