Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
Cheesecake Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- â…“ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Blueberry Filling
- 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted unsalted butter, and eggs. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead until a smooth, elastic dough forms, about 8 to 10 minutes. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Make Blueberry Filling: While the dough rises, prepare the blueberry filling by placing the blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens into a jam-like consistency. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Prepare Cheesecake Filling: Beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Roll and Fill Dough: Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 10 by 16-inch rectangle. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, then spoon the cooled blueberry filling on top. Using a knife, gently swirl the two fillings together to create a marbled effect.
- Shape Rolls: Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 even rolls. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, cover, and allow them to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown on top and cooked through.
- Prepare Glaze and Finish: While the rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to form a smooth glaze. Once the rolls have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze generously over the top before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute the homemade blueberry filling with store-bought blueberry jam for convenience.
- Prepare the rolls up to the shaping step the night before, refrigerate overnight, then bring them to room temperature before baking in the morning for a fresh start to your day.
