Description

Celebrate the holidays with these festive Candy Cane Jello Shots, combining the refreshing flavors of peppermint and cherry with creamy sweetness. Perfect for parties, these bite-sized treats blend peppermint schnapps, vanilla vodka, and cherry jello into a fun and flavorful gelatin dessert, topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes for that extra festive touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Mixture

  • 1 packet Cherry Jello (3 oz)
  • 2 packets unflavored Gelatin (about 4 tsp)
  • 3 tbsp Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 cup peppermint schnapps
  • 1 cup vanilla vodka

Toppings

  • Whipped Cream (for garnish)
  • Crushed candy canes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gelatin base: In a medium saucepan, sprinkle the cherry jello and unflavored gelatin over 1 cup of cold water. Let it bloom for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to absorb the liquid fully.
  2. Dissolve the gelatin: Place the saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly until all the gelatin and sugar have dissolved completely (about 5 minutes). Do not let it boil.
  3. Add alcohol and mix: Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the peppermint schnapps and vanilla vodka until the mixture is well combined.
  4. Pour into molds: Carefully pour the mixture into a 16-cup shot glass mold or similar small containers. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
  5. Garnish and serve: Before serving, top each jello shot with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy canes for a festive touch.

Notes

  • Ensure the gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid grainy texture.
  • Adjust alcohol quantity slightly if a stronger or milder flavor is desired.
  • Use small shot glasses or silicone molds for easy serving.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
