Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Alfredo Filling
- 1 lb grilled chicken, sliced or shredded
- 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Garlic Bread Subs
- 4 sub rolls
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Grill or cook the chicken until it is tender and fully cooked. Once done, slice or shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces for easy stuffing.
- Toss Chicken in Alfredo Sauce: Warm the Alfredo sauce in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced or shredded chicken and toss until every piece is well coated with the creamy sauce. Set this mixture aside.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for baking the subs later.
- Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: In a bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley. Stir well to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
- Prep the Sub Rolls: Slice each sub roll lengthwise open, but leave one side attached to form a hinge. Generously brush the inside of each roll with the prepared garlic butter mixture, making sure to cover all surfaces for maximum flavor.
- Stuff the Subs: Spoon the warm chicken Alfredo mixture evenly into each prepared sub roll. Then sprinkle the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the filling.
- Bake the Subs: Place the stuffed subs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the bread is crispy and toasted, and the cheese has melted beautifully.
- Serve Warm: Remove the subs from the oven, garnish with a little extra chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm for a delightful and hearty meal.
Notes
- You can use leftover grilled chicken or rotisserie chicken to save time.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Alfredo sauce before coating the chicken.
- Use fresh sub rolls or baguettes for the best texture and taste.
- For a lighter option, use part-skim mozzarella and a low-fat Alfredo sauce.
- Make sure not to overstuff the rolls to prevent them from becoming soggy during baking.
