Description

These Chicken Alfredo Stuffed Garlic Bread Subs combine tender grilled chicken smothered in creamy Alfredo sauce with a delightful garlic butter-infused sub roll, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for a comforting and satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare and sure to please the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Alfredo Filling

  • 1 lb grilled chicken, sliced or shredded
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Garlic Bread Subs

  • 4 sub rolls
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Grill or cook the chicken until it is tender and fully cooked. Once done, slice or shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces for easy stuffing.
  2. Toss Chicken in Alfredo Sauce: Warm the Alfredo sauce in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced or shredded chicken and toss until every piece is well coated with the creamy sauce. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for baking the subs later.
  4. Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: In a bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley. Stir well to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  5. Prep the Sub Rolls: Slice each sub roll lengthwise open, but leave one side attached to form a hinge. Generously brush the inside of each roll with the prepared garlic butter mixture, making sure to cover all surfaces for maximum flavor.
  6. Stuff the Subs: Spoon the warm chicken Alfredo mixture evenly into each prepared sub roll. Then sprinkle the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the filling.
  7. Bake the Subs: Place the stuffed subs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the bread is crispy and toasted, and the cheese has melted beautifully.
  8. Serve Warm: Remove the subs from the oven, garnish with a little extra chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm for a delightful and hearty meal.

Notes

  • You can use leftover grilled chicken or rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Alfredo sauce before coating the chicken.
  • Use fresh sub rolls or baguettes for the best texture and taste.
  • For a lighter option, use part-skim mozzarella and a low-fat Alfredo sauce.
  • Make sure not to overstuff the rolls to prevent them from becoming soggy during baking.
