Description

These crispy Chicken Flautas are a delicious Mexican dish perfect for any occasion. Shredded chicken seasoned with spices and cheese, rolled into flour tortillas, and fried until golden and crunchy. Serve with your favorite toppings for a flavorful meal.

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

For Assembly and Serving:

  • 12 small flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and chopped cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Filling: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and both cheeses. Mix until evenly combined.
  2. Assemble the Flautas: Warm the tortillas slightly, place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla, and roll tightly into a flute shape. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  3. Fry the Flautas: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, fry the flautas until golden and crispy.

Notes

  • You can substitute flour tortillas with corn tortillas if preferred.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
