Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Mixture
- 36 Oreo cookies
- 1 (8-ounce) package brick-style cream cheese, softened
Coating
- 16 ounces chocolate (semi-sweet, milk, or white), melted
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the Oreo balls from sticking during freezing and dipping.
- Crush Oreos: Using a blender or food processor, crush the Oreo cookies until fine crumbs are formed. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl, reserving 1-2 tablespoons for topping later.
- Mix Cream Cheese and Crumbs: Add the softened cream cheese to the crushed Oreo crumbs and mix thoroughly using a handheld mixer until well combined into a smooth, uniform mixture.
- Form Balls and Freeze: Roll tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture into balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze the balls for at least 20 minutes to firm up.
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your choice of chocolate until smooth, stirring every 20-30 seconds to avoid burning.
- Dip and Decorate: Remove the Oreo balls from the freezer and dip each into the melted chocolate to coat completely. Place back on the baking sheet and sprinkle reserved Oreo crumbs on top if desired.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the dipped Oreo balls for at least 20 minutes to allow the chocolate coating to harden before serving.
Notes
- Use brick-style cream cheese for the best texture and consistency.
- Choose your favorite chocolate type—semi-sweet, milk, or white—to customize flavor.
- If you don’t have a food processor, place Oreos in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Store finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For quicker setting, you can freeze the dipped balls after chocolate coating.
