Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Coconut Balls that combine shredded sweetened coconut, powdered sugar, and sweetened condensed milk to create a wonderfully chewy treat. Optionally dipped in creamy melted chocolate for an extra decadent touch, these no-bake coconut balls are perfect for snacks or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Core Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional for Chocolate Coating

  • 8 oz white or dark chocolate (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add shredded coconut, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, vanilla extract, and sweetened condensed milk.
  2. Mix to Form Dough: Stir the mixture thoroughly until it forms a sticky, cohesive dough. If the mixture feels too dry, gradually add a little more condensed milk until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. Shape Coconut Balls: Roll the dough into 1-inch diameter balls using your hands. Place each formed ball onto a tray lined with parchment or wax paper.
  4. Chill the Balls: Refrigerate the tray of coconut balls for 30 minutes to firm up before optional chocolate dipping.
  5. Melt Chocolate (Optional): Melt white or dark chocolate gently using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  6. Dip Coconut Balls in Chocolate: Using a fork or skewer, dip each chilled coconut ball into the melted chocolate to coat completely. Place the dipped balls back onto the lined tray.
  7. Final Chill: Refrigerate the chocolate-coated coconut balls for approximately 20 minutes until the chocolate sets fully.

Notes

  • You can substitute sweetened coconut with unsweetened coconut and adjust sugar accordingly based on your sweetness preference.
  • If the dough is too sticky to handle, chilling it for a few minutes can help.
  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free sweetened condensed milk and check chocolate is vegan friendly.
  • Store coconut balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh for up to one week.
  • Feel free to roll the coconut balls in extra shredded coconut or chopped nuts before chilling for added texture.
