Ingredients
Scale
Lobster Tails
- 4 lobster tails (about 5 oz each)
Sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare Lobster Tails: Using kitchen scissors, cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise down the center, stopping at the base. Gently pull the meat out and rest it on top of the shell. Pat dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Sear Lobster: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Place the lobster tails, meat-side down, into the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes.
- Simmer in Sauce: Flip the lobster tails and add the remaining butter. Once melted, add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5–6 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the lobster tails until the meat is opaque and cooked through.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
- Optional Broil: For extra flavor, broil the lobster tails for 1–2 minutes after simmering in the sauce.
Notes
- For a lighter cream sauce, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- Broiling the lobster tails briefly after cooking enhances flavor and adds a slight char.
