Description

Creamy Garlic Chicken with Spinach is a rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a luscious garlic cream sauce with fresh spinach and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for a comforting dinner that balances creamy, savory, and slightly spicy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Sauce & Vegetables

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Cook the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add them to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Make the sauce: Pour in the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add spinach and cheese: Add fresh spinach and let it wilt in the sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Combine and serve: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the creamy garlic spinach sauce over them, and warm through for 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk, but the sauce will be less creamy.
  • Fresh spinach offers the best texture, but frozen spinach can be used; just thaw and drain before adding.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
