Instructions
- Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven or large soup pot over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Cook Turkey: Add the ground turkey to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it browns evenly.
- Add Spices and Tomato Paste: Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper until well combined with the turkey.
- Add Beans and Tomatoes: Mix in the drained kidney beans, Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies (including juices), and water or chicken broth. Increase heat to high to bring to a gentle boil.
- Simmer Chili: Reduce heat to low and simmer the chili for 15-20 minutes with the lid slightly ajar, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Toppings: While the chili simmers, prepare your desired toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, cilantro, or avocado.
- Season and Serve: Season chili with salt and pepper to taste, then ladle into bowls and serve hot with toppings of your choice.
