Ingredients
Scale
For the Lollipops:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 packet Kool-Aid drink mix (any flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- cooking spray or oil for greasing molds
- optional lollipop sticks or silicone molds
Instructions
- Prepare the Molds: Lightly grease silicone lollipop molds or prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet with lollipop sticks spaced apart.
- Cook the Sugar Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then stop stirring and allow the mixture to boil until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Add Flavor and Fizz: Remove from heat immediately and stir in the Kool-Aid packet and baking soda. The mixture will fizz and bubble briefly.
- Fill the Molds: Quickly pour the mixture into molds or over the lollipop sticks. Let the lollipops cool and harden completely at room temperature, about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Enjoy: Once set, remove from molds and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Use any Kool-Aid flavor for a variety of colors and tastes.
- The baking soda adds the ‘fizz’ effect when eaten.
