Description

This Fresh Air Fryer Bread recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy homemade bread without the need for an oven. Using simple pantry ingredients and an air fryer, you’ll have warm, soft bread with a slightly crispy crust in under 30 minutes. Perfect as a side for soups, sandwiches, or simply with butter and jam.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter)

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir thoroughly to evenly distribute all dry ingredients.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in ¾ cup of milk (dairy or plant-based) and 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter. Mix the ingredients until a soft dough forms. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  3. Shape the Dough: Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough briefly. Shape it into a round loaf or a shape that fits your air fryer basket comfortably.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  5. Air Fry the Bread: Place the shaped dough carefully into the air fryer basket. Cook for 18 minutes, flipping halfway through if your air fryer requires it, until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the air fryer and allow it to cool slightly on a wire rack before slicing into 8 slices. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk with any plant-based alternative for a dairy-free version.
  • Ensure your air fryer basket is large enough to accommodate the dough to allow proper air circulation.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle herbs like rosemary or thyme on top before air frying.
  • Store leftover bread in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to 2 days.
