Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 12 Oreo cookies
- 24 Mini Twist pretzels (2 per frog)
- 7 oz white chocolate
- 1/2 tsp coconut oil
- Green food coloring
- 1 package Candy eyes (2 per frog)
- Black sugar sprinkles (optional)
- Red cookie icing
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate together with the coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. Add green food coloring and stir until the color is evenly distributed and the mixture is smooth.
- Prepare Pretzel Legs: Dip each mini twist pretzel completely into the green chocolate to coat. Place pairs of pretzels side by side on a wax paper lined tray so their bottoms are touching, forming the frog’s legs.
- Attach Frog Body: Dip one Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Place the coated cookie on top of the pretzel legs on the tray, pressing gently to set the body in place.
- Add Eyes and Tongue: Attach two candy eyes onto each frog’s cookie body using a little melted chocolate as glue. Use red cookie icing to pipe a tongue shape onto each frog’s mouth area.
- Create Back Bumps: Transfer remaining melted chocolate into a piping bag with a very small tip. Pipe small bumps behind the eyes on each frog cookie to create texture representing the frog’s back.
- Apply Texture: Lightly sprinkle black sugar sprinkles over each frog to add depth and visual interest, mimicking a textured frog’s skin.
- Set Cookies: Place the tray in the refrigerator for the chocolate to harden completely before serving, approximately 15–20 minutes.
Notes
- Use a gentle hand when dipping cookies and pretzels to avoid breakage.
- If white chocolate thickens, rewarm gently to keep it fluid for dipping.
- These cookies should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 2–3 days for best freshness.
- Substitute vegan white chocolate to make these cookies vegan-friendly.
- For a different look, try using different colored candy eyes or flavored icing.
