Description

These High-Protein Bagel Bites are a delicious and nutritious snack option that packs a protein punch. Made with Greek yogurt and topped with cheese, they are easy to make and perfect for a quick bite on the go.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour (or 1 cup all-purpose flour plus 1½ teaspoons baking powder and ½ teaspoon salt)

Toppings:

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons egg whites (or 1 egg, beaten)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Make the dough: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour until a dough forms. Knead the dough briefly on a floured surface until smooth.
  3. Shape the bagel bites: Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten slightly and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Prepare the toppings: In a small bowl, mix the egg whites with garlic powder and onion powder. Brush the tops of each dough ball with the egg mixture. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the tops.
  5. Bake: Bake for 20–22 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding dried herbs like oregano or basil to the dough.
  • You can also mix in chopped turkey or chicken for even more protein.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
