Season the meat mixture with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  2. Preheat the oven and prepare crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the deep-dish pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan or similar deep-dish pan. If desired, brush the crust edges with the beaten egg to create a golden, shiny finish.
  3. Assemble the pie layers: Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the crust base. Layer half of the cooked meat mixture on top of the sauce. Sprinkle one cup of shredded mozzarella over the meat, then add half of the pepperoni slices. Repeat layering with the remaining pizza sauce, meat mixture, mozzarella, and top with the remaining pepperoni slices.
