Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
Meat
- 1 lb ground beef (substitute with ground turkey or chicken if desired)
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream (can use half-and-half or non-dairy alternatives)
- 1 cup chicken broth (low-sodium recommended)
- 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (can use mixed herbs)
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
Seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Garlic and Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a small amount of oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Prepare the Creamy Sauce: Pour the chicken broth into the skillet with the beef and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly over low heat, about 4-5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta into the skillet with the creamy beef sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- Serve: Plate the creamy beef pasta immediately, optionally garnishing with extra Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
- You can replace ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner protein.
- Low-sodium chicken broth helps control saltiness; adjust seasoning accordingly.
- Adding fresh herbs such as parsley or basil can enhance the flavor and presentation.
- Be sure not to overcook the pasta to maintain a firm texture that complements the creamy sauce.
