  • ¼ cup buttermilk

Butter Glaze:

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Blend wet and dry: Gradually add dry mix to wet mix, alternating with buttermilk, until combined.
  5. Bake cookies: Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 10–12 minutes.
  6. Prepare glaze: Combine butter, sugar, and water in a saucepan, simmer and add vanilla.
  7. Glaze cookies: Spoon glaze over warm cookies once out of the oven.
