Description

A vibrant and spicy Mango Habanero Honey Garlic Sauce that perfectly balances sweet, tangy, and fiery flavors. This versatile sauce is great for glazing grilled meats, drizzling over tacos, or as a dipping sauce for appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large mango (fresh or 1 cup frozen, peeled and chopped)
  • 2 habanero peppers (seeded for less heat)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until shimmering, which prepares the pan for sautéing the aromatics.
  2. Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, releasing its aromatic flavor without burning.
  3. Add main ingredients: Stir in the chopped mango, habanero peppers, honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, and salt to the saucepan, mixing everything well.
  4. Simmer the sauce: Let the mixture simmer gently on medium-low heat for 10–15 minutes until it thickens slightly, allowing flavors to meld and the sauce to reduce.
  5. Cool and blend: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool before transferring it to a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth for a silky texture.
  6. Season and store: Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Pour the sauce into a jar or airtight container and store in the refrigerator once fully cooled.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove seeds and membranes from habanero peppers completely.
  • Use fresh mangoes for the best flavor, but frozen mango works well in a pinch.
  • This sauce keeps well refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
  • Use as a glaze for grilled chicken, pork, shrimp, or as a spicy dip.
  • Adjust honey quantity to control sweetness according to your preference.
