Instructions
- Prepare the meatballs and mashed potatoes: Follow the linked Italian meatballs and mashed potatoes recipes provided in the Notes section to prepare both components fully before assembly.
- Preheat and assemble casserole: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly across the bottom of the dish. Arrange the cooked meatballs evenly over the mashed potatoes layer.
- Bake the casserole: Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the dish is heated through. Then, evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
