Description

These Rolo Turtle Pretzels are a delightful sweet and salty treat combining the crunch of pretzels, the gooey caramel and chocolate of Rolo candies, and the rich texture of pecan halves. Perfect for parties, snacks, or gifting, they are easy to make with just three ingredients and a quick baking step.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 11 ounces Rolo candies (1 bag or 50 Rolo candies)
  • 50 mini pretzels
  • 50 pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pretzels: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line an 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the mini pretzels in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  2. Warm Rolo candies: Place one Rolo candy in the center of each pretzel. Put the baking sheet in the oven for about 3 to 4 minutes, just until the chocolate and caramel begin to soften but do not fully melt.
  3. Add pecans: Remove the baking sheet from the oven carefully. Quickly press one pecan half into the softened center of each Rolo candy to form your turtle shape.
  4. Chill to set: Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate hardens again, which will firm up the treats.
  5. Store properly: Once set, store the Rolo Turtle Pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness and texture.

Notes

  • Do not overheat the Rolos to prevent them from melting completely and becoming too sticky.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Store in an airtight container to avoid moisture softening the pretzels.
  • These treats can be made ahead and stored for up to a week at room temperature.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute pecan halves with chocolate chips or dried fruit.
